When Taryn Schlowsky and groom Joe Crouthers decided to their say “I Do” to a wedding in the Hostess City, they knew just who to turn to for a signature Savannah soiree.
Savannah Wedding Professionals Caroline Carter, of Caroline Carter Events and Sarah Aliffi-Baez, catering sales manager at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa, helped the couple make their wedding a real holiday guests would enjoy and remember. Their 4-day celebration showed guests the real meaning of southern hospitality with a family dinner and smores at the Westin’s fire pit on Thursday followed by Friday’s girls day at the private pool cabanas and the guys golf outing.
A Savannah Wedding Professional’s exclusive: Bleubelle Bridal is hosting a phenomenal trunk show this weekend Friday August 13 and Saturday August 14, featuring the gowns of Bliss by Monique Lhuillier. Known for her couture designs and sumptuous fabrics like silk taffeta and french Alencon lace, this appearance of Lhuillier’s Bliss collection is a true sneak peek courtesy of Bleubelle. It won’t even be in other stores until the end of the year.
“I just want to be married” was the closing line of one of the first emails Chrissy Aiken wrote to Forsyth Park Inn after booking her intimate courtyard wedding last year following groom Jared Murphy’s fountain-side proposal. “I cant wait to be Mrs. Murphy,” she said.
TLC’s hit show, Say Yes to the Dress, heads south this season with the premiere of Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta on August 6, 2010 and southern belles everywhere are fanning themselves in anticipation. But be sure to check out tonight’s sneak preview at 9:30pm following the original season’s final episode at 9:00pm, to see if you can spot any Savannah Wedding Professionals.
Several members were part of a wedding earlier this year that was filmed for the show’s initial episodes. SWP member Rev. Steven Schulte blogged about his television experience back in March and revealed that Tricia Huddas & Co wedding planners Genina Ramirez and Stephanie Latham were also part of the event. Rumor has it that this wedding may have involved the work of photographer Lyn Bonham and cake extraordinaire Minette Rushing too.
So ya’ll grab a mint julep and catch a peek as the brides of Atlanta show those Yankees how a real wedding is done!
Kate Watson is not only a stunning bride, but she is a smart one too. Kate works for Beachview Tent Rentals, a Savannah Wedding Professionals member, so she is familiar with the great service SWP provides to their clients. Naturally, for her own wedding, she looked no further than fellow members for her planner, Caroline Carter of Caroline Carter Events, her photographers, Kelli Boyd and Joseph Gamble of DVBPhotographers and even her dress, which she found at Bleubelle Bridal.
Since brides are estimated to spend an average of ten hours a week planning their wedding online, I’d thought I’d write a little about Savannah Wedding Professionals and where you can find us online.
In this estimated ten hours a week – most of which I’ve heard happens at work during the lunch hour – brides are looking up vendors, researching venues and building their inspiration for their special day. Savannah Wedding Professionals provides all of those details with one click at www.savannahweddingprofessionals.com.
Savannah residents might remember Savannah Wedding Professional Amy Harvey from her Wilmington Island store BloomingPails but her current business, Harvey Designs, is better known now for their gorgeous blooms and contemporary custom designs.
I know, I know. I usually post Real Savannah Weddings at the beginning of the week. Its not that we didn’t have any this weekend, because we did! It’s not that I don’t have pics of them, because I do! It’s not that there weren’t any Savannah Wedding Professionals involved, because there were! It’s because I was a busy Miss SWP this weekend and haven’t finished writing the post yet. But never fear, I’ve got a post nonetheless and that’s really what counts anyway, especially because it’s a Monday and I’m just glad I’ve got a post at all!
SWP member New Arts Ensembles performed a traditional order of music for this ceremony in early spring. But co-owners Ricardo Ochoa on violin and Kristin King on harp, joined by cellist Annelise Nelson, featured an anything-but-traditional song list.
Maybe it was luck when Florida girl Mikaela Green walked into yankee Peter Marra’s Savannah office just a few years ago. But luck turned to love, when after several years of dating, Peter popped the question following Mikaela’s move to Savannah.
Savannah Wedding Professionals have incredibly talented floral designers in their organization. From Kiwi Fleur’s signature “kiwi magic” bouquet wraps to Garden on the Square’s classically stunning arrangements, to designer Amy Harvey of Harvey Designs floral room transformations, Savannah floral designers have always been on the cutting edge.
Much like J-Lo's character in her movie The Wedding Planner, bride Tricia Huddas is an dedicated and enthusiastic wedding planner and namesake owner of Savannah's own Tricia Huddas & Co.
Calling all Brides! Calling all Brides!
Owner Heather Burge dropped Miss SWP a line to let everyone know that BleuBelle Bridal is having their annual Sample Sale Saturday, June 19. Heather thinks it may be the biggest one yet, so ditch those other Saturday morning plans now!
Miss SWP came across this video of a film student & circus performer who proposes to his girlfriend following a tremendous performance. Under the guise of a documentary for his friend, a “director,” the young man sets it up placing the girl in a chair just seconds before lip-synching and performing to that catchy Shake It song by Metro Station.
Jennifer Bodner & Michael Aaron graciously chose our fine city to host their family and friends for their destination wedding. Of course, they are an extremely brilliant pair, hiring Savannah Wedding Professionals for every facet of their wedding...five of our members were delighted to create an exceptional day for them.
